Horseback  Riding

Find a stable

Ride in the High Sierra! There are a number of stables in Plumas County that offer trail rides, instruction for individuals and family with or without prior horseback riding experience.

Horseback riding in Plumas County, Northern California
Take a horseback ride into terrain that brings you to pristine lakes, towering pine forests and back in history.  Wranglers from numerous stables offer guided trips ranging from novice hour-long rides to overnight pack trips complete with meals. Or, if you prefer, the guides will pack you in and out on horses, leaving you to enjoy the campsite on your own.  Want to experience the Old West in comfort and style? Try a horse-drawn wagon ride that includes a barbecue dinner served outdoors.  In the winter, you can sing carols and snuggle together on sleigh rides pulled by  draft horses.

Visitors who bring their own horses also will find plenty of trails, camp- sites and stables to accommodate them. Check with the Plumas or Lassen National Forest Service offices for specific trail and campsite information.
